Mr. Homick truly helped me find a love for the euphonium.
After reflecting on my seven years of studying with Jeff Homick, I am confident in saying that taking lessons from him was not only vital to my rapid development as a euphonium player, but truly one of the best decisions and experiences of my life. I started with Mr. Homick in sixth grade, and concluded my lessons with him at the end of my senior year of high school. Every week, I looked forward to my lessons with Mr. Homick because I knew I was entering a welcoming environment with a teacher who would make me smile and laugh. Additionally, on a weekly basis I knew that I would come out of each and every lesson a better euphonium player.
In my seven years as a student, Mr. Homick’s understanding and analysis of science, human emotions and psychology, and musical expression helped me grow into a well-rounded euphonium player with solid fundamentals and confident musical ideas. If it weren’t for Mr. Homick’s attentiveness, love for euphonium, and most of all his kindness, I do not think I would have succeeded at playing and finding a love for the euphonium myself. I am forever grateful for Jeff Homick, and I can’t recommend anyone more than him to help current and future euphonium players thrive at their craft.
